Principal Design Features
Architectural Equal Angle 6063 is an aluminum alloy, with magnesium and silicon as the alloying elements. It has generally good mechanical properties and is heat treatable and weldable.
Commonly used in extruded shapes for architecture, particularly window frames, door frames, roofs, and sign frames. It is typically produced with very smooth surfaces fit for anodizing.
Machinability is considered to be average for this alloy.
Forming ability, either hot or cold, is good.
The alloy is readily welded by conventional methods.
This alloy is heat treatable.
